when I was a consulting utility forester for the first year and a half in Asheville, I'd have to spend time on per diem, staying on transmission utility projects around the carolinas. my work truck was a little rough for any paper projects to be safe in, so i'd toss this live edge piece of basswood (Tilia americana) in the back of the truck and work on it while I was away from Asheville.
