What In tarnation is cappstract art?
It's wordplay. It always is.
I got a little wrapped up in living a surrealist life for a few years! It was a wonky wave, lemme tell ya. Briefly rejecting shoes for a time and taking Hogtown Creek to class, my "swamp creature" phase from 2017 through 2020 demanded I explore new ways to approach understanding some more abstract thoughts I'd been entertaining.
I had a lot on my mind, and found abstract impressionism to be the most effective way of communicating what needed to be expressed. I found that there was just some stuff I needed to get out!
THE DOLLAR A Minute
Doodle Dude
Ya boy loves making art for their friends. As it turns out, some folks liked my stuff enough to pay me to trick out their items!
Check out my video rundown of my commission process! I ball out on occasion.
This is the commission structure I came up with when I got bored vending with just prints. I wanted to make something baller right now rather than rely on the past successes!
>Just after moving to Asheville armed with a handful of leftover prints from when folks made prints to raise money when I was mid-coma. Some folks wanted to buy a print as a way donate to the recovery effort after I fell off that building, so I had a few to spare when I moved up. I sat down in Prichard Park downtown Asheville and set up slinging prints.
From there, I was vending prints in pop up shops, but I found issue with only selling art I'd made in the past. I felt like I was pointing to the past and saying, "That's where I peaked."
Now, I love to create personalized art for very good friends of mine. It's a very intimate way to learn what people like, makes them happy, connects them with art, you name it!
Look at this goofball (2022) and a half with a goatee, we love it
Here, we've got selections from the first doodle book I ever made. Each page was a doodle-a-day beginning in #inktober 2023, but there were more pages in the book than days in October so I freaked it.
