Description

goofball returns was started just after i'd been displaced from asheville following the flood. i'd started it at my parents house in florida, assuming my life in asheville was over. because i'd intentionally gone slowly with stippling the tiny dots, i ended up deciding to return to asheville despite not having a job or an apartment there anymore. it's one of the positives of slowing down i'd made this to process all of the hullabaloo that had gone on in the flood. i felt like i'd lost so much, and folks outside of asheville couldn't seem to understand what had happened, so it was just me, my pens, and this piece. in just 2 and a half weeks, i made my way back and began serving free meals in west asheville and volunteering in the river arts district, which is how i landed in my first studio (gallery, but i didn't know the difference back then) and began launching my art career.
