Here's a board that I made in advance of the Nothing to See Here show in Greenville in April 2026. I saw dogwoods blooming quite beautifully out the window I'd wake up next to with my dog, Bear, and it was just so gorgeous I had to draw it into a skateboard. Something cool happened with this one. When I first stained these boards, I didn't notice they already had a finish, so the stain sat on top of the finish. As much as I told myself I'd be super careful to not scratch it off, inevitably, i scratched it up as I moved it from place to place. Riffing off that, I used a my engraving tool to turn the board into a scratchboard, engraving into the wood and exposing the raw wood underneath.   Cornus florida is the binomial for this tree! It's from the family Cornaceae, if anyone asks,
